Interior Design Consultations
I will meet with you in your home to discuss your needs, vision, and goals. I will tour your home with you, asking questions in order to obtain insight into your personality and lifestyle. Your answers will guide my recommendations and allow me to develop design schemes that truly fit who you are.
If you'd like, I can bring a variety of resources to inspire you such as paint fans, fabric books, and interior design books. The time required for this consultation will vary depending on the complexity of the job, but I promise to be efficient and cost-sensitive. My hourly rate is for Interior Design Consultations is $80.
Custom Soft Home Furnishings
Tara's Interiors offers re-upholstery, custom slipcovers, window treatments, pillows, cushions, bedding and more. I can manage any part of the process from design, fabric and trim selection, through fabrication and installation. I have established relationships with highly experienced workrooms that produce beautiful top quality custom home furnishings. Prices will vary according to job, but you will always receive an up-front and clear estimate.
Space Planning
Don't waste time eyeballing how your furnishings might fit in your room. I can create a computerized floor plan of your space so you can visualize how things can be arranged. This is particularly useful in avoiding costly mistakes by purchasing furniture of the right dimensions. A Space Plan allows you to see how your furniture should be positioned for optimal flow and provides you with a visual map of how you want your room to look at the end of the design process or in the future as you are able to make changes or upgrades.
Having a space plan made in conjunction with a Design Analysis is a great way to start creating the rooms of your dreams! The charge for a personalized Space Plan start at $250 per room.
Color Consultations
Growing up in the Caribbean nurtured my love of color and continues to inspire my design aesthetic today. Over and over again, my clients have expressed their fear of color. What to choose? How do I make the colors in one room flow into the next? They were simply overwhelmed until I set their fears to rest.
Color is an integral part of any interior design project. It defines the mood and style of your home's interior. I will help you select the perfect color palette that best suits your design needs and personal taste.
Design Analysis
For just $100 more, I will prepare a Design Analysis detailing the results of our Interior Design Consultation and providing my recommendations in a written, organized format which will outline your project and goals followed by a comprehensive list of recommendations (including design elements such as color, new furnishings, window treatments, furniture arrangements). Of course, I am more than happy to oversee the completion of any or all of the recommendations given in the analysis at my hourly rate of $80.
Sample Boards
You may also choose to have me create a Sample Board for you based on our consultation and the Design Analysis. Sample boards are a practical way to demonstrate how different elements of a design will work together in harmony. The Sample Board presents the materials, fabrics, paint finishes, window treatments and soft furnishings needed to bring your decorating project to life. The price of a Sample Board starts at $100 per room.
