"It is your home, so it's what you want that matters. Express yourself - don't let others dictate your style. I will be guided by your taste and needs and will not impose my vision on you."
"I have worked with Tara for over three years in both my DC home and my Pennsylvania country home. She has an amazing ability to visualize a space and turn it into a comfortable and functional room. Her natural instinct for color and coordinating fabrics brings a room to life. Working with Tara has been painless and a lot of fun!"

Let me tell you a little about myself...
My love for interior design began during my youth on St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, where my family owned a land and hotel development business that constantly exposed me to the creative process behind architectural design, construction, and interior design. Growing up in custom-built and designed homes cultivated my ability to visualize interior spaces and fully explore their potential.
With a desire to protect the beautiful environment of my tropical home, I attended Yale University and graduated with a Masters in Environmental Studies. I returned home and served in the Virgin Island's government as an Environmental Planner responsible for solid waste management policy and planning. Both my education and career nurtured a deep understanding of Green Design which I am glad to share with those clients who share the same commitment or want to explore the green opportunities available to them.
My career took a turn after I moved to Washington DC, married, and had two beautiful boys. With my love of color, fabrics, and home decor, I developed my natural talent for interior design through seminars and conferences and became a Certified Interior Decorator with the Decorator's Alliance of North America. Tara's Interiors was born and has been steadily growing.
I am eager to share my passion and expertise with you - to help you take the next step to truly LOVING YOUR HOME!!
